After spending an entirely handwaved day killing zombies, Allie and Alice had decided to stay another day for the heck of it. And so Thursday had seen much zombie shooting for Alice, the night arriving way too soon to spoil her fun

Alice was just managing to control her breath when Allie came out of the jump. She was about to shoot her whens he realized what she was doing and let the guns slide out of her hands.
She looked mildly terrified.
"I'm not sure," managed to say as looked down at her hands as if she didn't know what she was seeing. "I had a...dream."
"Sit down." Sticking her head back into the van, Allie grabbed on of the bottles of water they'd brought and tossed it over to Alice. "Take a drink and relax for a few minutes."
"Maybe the extra day wasn't such a good idea if it's giving you nightmares."
Dazed and everything, Alice caught the bottle without even looking at it. "No, I always have nightmares," said absentmindedly. "This was...real. Way too real for a dream."
Alice collected her thoughts for a moment. "I was...somewhere I remembered. Right where I woke up without memories. But- I didn't know, didn't remember any of it. Any of this. It was like replaying the first moments that I actually remember...but there was something different."
Shocking her head, Alice closed her eyes as the headache got worst. "I only remember dying, and I know it was that before I've been pretty close to dead before."
That made Alice smile a bit. She didn't want comforting. "I can see that, thanks."
"Right, I haven't told you yet. It's a long story and my head is killing me, but I don't remember most of my life. Nerve gas has that kind of effect on you when it doesn't kill you. We'll talk once my head ins't killing me, promise."
The middle of a desert after a creepy dream where not the right place.
Allie's 'confession' made her think of her own situation. Then she waved at the desert. "I don't remember anything better than this. The island is temporal." Sighing, Alice rose to her feet, teeth gritted as she looked around. Goodbye sleeping for the next week or so. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
"Home for me isn't much better. A little less sand maybe but other then that? Yeah, not too different." And there were just as many things to kill you there. "The island's been an unexpected bright spot. Creature comforts and good people."
Allie picked up her sword and rose to her feet. "Want me to drive?"
Grabbing her sword, Allie burst out the back doors of the van, immediately searching for any threats.
Except there didn't seem to be any.
"Alice, what the hell?"

"The way your heart's racing, I'm guessing it wasn't a good one?" Allie observed. "Are you okay?"

"I died," replied dryly as she tried to stand, only to be hit with a massive headache. "Or something."

Sorry Alice, she's not the most comforting person in the world.
"What do you mean no memories?"

Looking around, she nodded. "Yeah...no. Go and have fun, I'll sit here and think I guess. We leave tonight."

"It'll be good to go back. I've been spoiled by indoor plumbing."
