The Desert that Used to Be America - Tuesday Night
Plans had been made, tickets had been bought. Weapons had been readied, ammo had been triple checked. Knives were sharp, and the time might never be right, but Alice had grown a bit too bored and a bit too wary of Fandom's little weird life. She needed some breather from that weird and she didn't find a better way to get it by having a go with her own brand of weird. To think she would ever actually feel a sense of nostalgia when she felt the sand under her feet, and soon enough all over her again.
Getting there had been unremarkable. Alice and Allie had handwavely slipped into the night and unto the first's world in the late hours of the night, giving Alice enough time to hunt down a big van so Allie could stay in there when the sun went up. It was important and Alice supposed it would do better than letting her go underground, considering they were on a desert and sand wasn't really the best place she wanted her...friend? to bury herself.
But yes, getting the van was simple enough, as most vehicles weren't really being used anymore. She also managed to get one with fuel, which was a big plus, although it wasn't too surprising once she realized the zone was infested with zombies; nobody in their right mind would venture for things around there.
Fortunately neither Alice nor Allie were really your average pretty ladies.
Day had come quickly enough, and Alice had made some reckon and crossbow shooting, if only to keep the zombies away from their general area. The idea was to save energy so she was in good shape to go out at night and put some poor undead to rest for good; there was a mall a few miles away she had drove them by, and by the looks of it there was enough rotten flesh for both of them. While Alice didn't feel particularly heroic by simply satiating her boredom, she also considered that they, in a way, were doing the survivors a big favor.
The sun was dying on the horizon by the time Alice had finally parked at a safe distance from what would soon become their killing grounds. Perched over the van, she patiently waited for Allie to wake up from her slumber.
