I loved Private Romeo so much even if the first forty-five minutes totally confused me. Matt Doyle's smile is a thing of beauty. But ugh Mercutiooooo, he was so perf. He had this really compelling energy so that every time he was on screen I couldn't look away. I definitely agree with all of your thoughts.

the answer to why so many people ship brad/nate over brad/ray can be summed up in two words: gun lube. I shit you not, that scene, and the "I could kiss you, sir," just did everyone in. (I mean, plus the long silent exchanges of eye contact. but mostly the gun lube scene.)
also ray humping the back of walt's head didn't help. (ray/walt is the cutest, I'm sorry.)
though there is some good brad/ray fic out there. just not as much. (for me, I mostly get caught on imagining brad and ray banging. like. I can't see it happening. I can see them sniping forever and trusting each other with their lives, but I can't actually see them having sex.)
then again, my favorite pairing in this fandom is q-tip/christeson, so I feel you on the lack of fic.
