dear hockey holiday exchange author,
hello! thank you so much for signing up and for writing something for me! i'm pretty pumped about my requests this year, and i hope you are too. ♥
general likes: i enjoy a lot of tropes, but the first things that come to mind are: team camaraderie/found families/families of choice, mutual pining, friends to lovers (and enemies to friends to lovers), magic incorporated in a mundane universe (i.e. urban fantasy, magical realism, et cetera), close-canon alternate realities of all kinds (basically what-if scenarios that tweak things about the world as we know it but stay in the canon universe, i.e. if one player wasn't a hockey player and the other still was), fake dating, woke up married. i love a good character study as much as any ship fic and i LOVE AUs. i love hitman/spies/espionage AUs, heist/conmen AUs, supernatural AUs where people are werewolves or vampires or shapeshifters or whatever, and when in doubt, set it in SPACE. I LOVE SPACE. i also love porn (preferably with a lot of feelings)!
general dislikes: i'm not a huge fan of most hard kinks (unless otherwise specified in the ship sections below), noncon/dubcon, terminal illness, self injury/mental illness/suicide, over-the-top angst, infidelity, and character death. basically relentlessly sad stuff! i am all about happy endings and people enjoying each other. BUT if it takes some angst to get there along the way, i am not opposed; i can also really get into melancholy/bittersweet relationships as long as the ending is hopeful!

the author's note in this story has a link dump and some background info, but long story short - i love sin and sinning. i'd be down for a lot of different filthy porn scenarios for any permutation of these dudes. also down for a lot of guilty introspection and fraught feelings.

1) how does colin feel when he figures out the fitzgerald brothers are fucking (due to [plot device of your choosing])? is he super conflicted or does he just find it really hot? discuss.
2) anything about boston college hockey team hazing, sexual or otherwise.
3) ryan and colin have been linemates since last season, and coach parker appears to be keeping it this way for now. the point is they play off each other really well - is casey jealous? is he kind of turned on?
4) needy sub casey fitzgerald is an excellent premise; colin lived with him in ann arbor for two years, so he knows about it and tries to help out where he can. does ryan find out? how? what does he do about it?
5) casey didn't get drafted his first year of eligibility (2015). one or both of the others comfort him.

ahhh ok, dylan and zach. the hometown hero and childhood best friends narratives are just too good! i love how close they are and how dylan had to do some "good persuading" to get zach to come to umich with him, and that one of the PERKS the recruiting office used was that they could room together. i love that zach accelerated his high school career so that he could go to college as a seventeen year old and play with dylan!!! and that zach wore a red wings shirt that dylan gave him to dylan's first game as a red wing, AND THAT DYLAN AND HIS BROTHER WENT TO ZACH'S DRAFT. basically, they are married.
specific prompts:
1) anything to do with this past season interests me: they're still living within a 50 mile radius of one another, but the demands of an nhl season are obviously a lot different than the ones of college hockey. i wanna see how they make it work!
2) future fic where zach gets traded to the red wings or signs with them as a UFA. he and dylan haven't lived together in years; what's it like trying to relearn each other again?
3) SECRET VIRGIN DYLAN LARKIN, any way you can swing this.
4) alternatively, sex pollen?

i am quite fond of the most recent iteration of the university of michigan wolverines, so inclusion of any of those guys (jt compher, niko porikos, etc) would be super appreciated!

my other wolverine children ☺️ jt compher is a dad and kevin lohan is lindsay lohan's cousin. they are very, very cute together. the height difference, as you can see, is quite excellent. last year they were roommates! they were both juniors this past season; jt was captain, and k-lo only played two games of the year, sidelined by an injury for the rest of it. (he was, however, zach werenski's d-partner last year.) you can do a lot of different things with the college hockey setting (true of most of these ships), so honestly, go wild.
specific prompts:
1) anything about this past season and umich's defensive woes weighing heavily on them would be great. k-lo's frustrations with not being able to play, jt dealing with the pressure of being captain. idk what their living situation at school was, but having them stay roommates is perfectly okay with me.
2) animal transformation fic! jt's called him big cat in multiple birthday insta posts, but anything you choose i would be down for.
3) accidentally dating/everyone around them thinks they're dating. their sisters have joked about them being married on instagram, so.
4) fic where they go on a cross country road trip together for jt's 21st birthday (slash their honeymoon???)
5) kevin has an a this season! maybe he calls jt a lot. #separationanxiety

once again, i love sin and sinning. obviously this is the one ship on this list that has a substantial age difference and power imbalance; david quinn was matt's coach for three years, and is much older. i definitely don't mind exploration of the conflicts that may arise from these facts, but i'm not really looking for fic that solely revolves around those issues. that being said, i love the idea of matt having a hopeless crush on his coach and david feeling super guilty about potentially messing up matt's life. matt deserves better! he shouldn't have to deal with being in a relationship with someone twice his age! and then they lowkey pine forever.
specific prompts:
1) woke up married, either in real life or in an alternate universe.
2) something where matt sustains a career-ending injury a couple of years after he makes the bruins, and david decides to hire him on as a power play coach for the terriers. (for context, david quinn was actually drafted in the first round and was set to play for minnesota before he discovered he had a rare form of hemophilia during college.)
3) alternatively, anything where matt finally makes the bruins' regular roster and hangs out with his old college coach a lot more than he anticipated.
4) i think there's a lot of potential here for a story told through the eyes of other people: former teammates (danny o'regan, ahti oksanen, jack eichel), family members, current teammates or colleagues, etc.
5) what are you supposed to do when you realize you're soulbond compatible with your own coach? 😨

matt and ryan are both bruins draft picks! they've known each other since they were kids growing up in the boston area, and they were battle of comm ave rivals for three years in college. they've been to a handful of bruins dev camps together, and are both certified #tinies.
specific prompts:
1) sex bets, obviously.
2) casey finds out his brother is dating/fucking a BU TERRIER and is suitably scandalized.
3) post beanpot sex!
4) both of them develop feelings after what was supposed to be a summer fling, and it's hard to remember that they have to be #enemies during the season again.
5) a soulmark or name-on-wrist au could be very interesting for these two, imo ☺️
