the most wonderful time of the year (yuletide letter)
dear yuletide author,
first of all, thank you so much!! *__* this is my first time actually signing up for yuletide after three years of will-they-won't-they slow-burn UST-ridden flirtation, but since i decided not to do advent this year i figured there was no time like the present to ~take the plunge~, haha. i'm already excited for what you're going to write for me! ♥ :D
without further ado, here are my requested fandoms/characters and some haphazard prompts that you can play around with!
brooklyn nine-nine: jake peralta, rosa diaz, amy santiago, gina linetti
OH MAN, hands down my favorite television show currently airing. fell in love with it last fall and never looked back. i enjoy pretty much all of the characters on this show, even the ones that i couldn't fit into my request, and some of my favorite parts of it are the team camaraderie and the wacky ensemble shenanigans and especially how well everyone knows each other (except rosa, of course, by choice). jake/amy is really lovely, but i'm also incredibly into jake/rosa's history and how they've had each other's backs since the police academy. ALSO really into jake/gina's childhood friendship and how it's persisted into adulthood, so i would be super pleased with any fic focusing on any and all of those relationships. the women in this show are truly terrific so i would also enjoy a story focused on any one of them: their backstory, a random case they get to work, how they started working at the precinct, how gina's dance troupe came to be, amy growing up with seven brothers, ballerina rosa??? seriously, run wild. I WILL LOVE IT.
*** not in my yuletide sign-up on ao3 but i would also really be into fic about savant! he was one of my fave guest appearances from season 1 and i always wish he'd come back and hang around the precinct ;~;
how to get away with murder: wes gibbins, connor walsh, michaela pratt
far and away my favorite characters thus far are connor walsh (!!!) and wes gibbins. love wes, love his puppy dog characteristics, love his low-key conniving, love his earnest idealism!!! and because i am incredibly easy of course i love connor the hypercompetent queer character who uses his ~sexual wiles~ to get what he wants. i enjoy his competitive rapport with michaela a ton, and though i was pretty annoyed by the scene in episode 3 where she loses it @ her fiance because he'd had a homosexual encounter at boarding school, i really like the idea of the three of them (wes, connor, and michaela) falling into this weird intimate codependent messy ot3 of sorts. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS VERY SELF INDULGENT and not even remotely close to canon but i still want it! connor obviously seems to enjoy the eager-to-please puppy dog types and wes totally reads like that (esp. at first glance) and he and michaela already seem to have, if not total no-holds-barred friendship, at least a sense of mutual understanding and respect. the wes/michaela leg is weakest probably so if you can't work it in then i'm totally fine with just some sort of wes/connor story!
the flash (cw): barry allen, cisco ramon
because i'm migratory slash fandom through and through i totally latched onto barry and cisco's burgeoning friendship after the first couple of episodes. cisco is one of my favorite character types, which is irreverent excited class-clown moodmakers, and his and barry's crime-fighting shenanigans really warm my heart :') i don't even need particularly romantic shippy fic at all, just something gen focusing on their friendship as barry continues discovering the extent of his powers and taking down supervillains is more than enough for me.
saga (comics): the will, the stalk, marko, alana
I LOVE SPACE OPERAS SO MUCH and saga is so excellent both in terms of story and interesting, fully realized characters. i would love anything about the will and the stalk and their history, anything that fleshes out what being a contract killer means in the universe of saga, details about how the system works, why the will and the stalk decided to become hitmen in the first place, etc. saga is such a fun world to play around in and honestly you could write me anything set in it and i would be happy. of course i'm also really into marko and alana and their story, i'd love anything from far-in-the-future fic to an immediate continuation of the current arc (how could you do this to us brian k. vaughan!!!) to filling in the gaps of marko or alana's childhoods.
generally speaking, with any and all of these fandoms i do NOT need all of the characters that i specified to be in the story. i love a good character study, so i will definitely enjoy anything you pick! I AM ALSO A HUGE FAN OF AUs, i love hitman/spies/espionage AUs of all sorts and when in doubt, set it in SPACE. I LOVE SPACE. as i touched upon above, my favorite tropes are team camaraderie/found families, the soppier the better. i also love porn. ;) as a blanket rule, i'm not really into fic that features gratuitous character death, mental/terminal illness, infidelity, over-the-top angst, self injury/suicide, noncon/dubcon, and most hard kinks, so avoiding those topics would be best. if you need any more ideas/would like to lurk around social media to see what else i'm into, i'm on twitter @ neuer and tumblr @lucy-vanpelt.
