So I didn't get my license taken away... which is perfect.

So here's what I came away with from this whole experience:

since the hearings are public, I want to go up with a bunch of people and just watch kids freak the fuck out during the hearing. Anyone with me?

great idea, you should whisper to the other people that are there and point at the kid to get his attention, then stare at him for the rest of the time. if that happened to me, i would be completely sketched out, not to mention being already pissed/scared because i was in court.
