yesterday i was in line in Winn Dixie to checkout, and i was behind this elderly woman.
She turned around and said to me "You can go ahead of me"
I said, "Are you sure?"
She replied, "yeah it's okay, i'm retired"
I said"oh alright" (with a smile) and swung around in front, since i only had two things (milk & coke)
Then I started thinking, 'It doesn't matter if she's retired or not she's still a human being and was rightfully and fairly in front of me. It doesnt matter if she has more items then me.'
So i said to her "it doesn't mater if you're retired or not you were ahead of me"
She continued with "Oh I know people have places to be and go to work. I have time to waste"
I thought to myself, "Wow, kindness does not wither away with time and age, it's all about who you are and how you choose to be and live"
*We can ALL learn a lesson from this woman!*
