barking and chasing tail

I have recently noticed that when I'm in a bout of depression, that is when I obsess over stuff.  So - how do I get out of depression, and stop obsessing?

It seems to help if I'm able to confront whatever it is immediately, but that isn't always possible.  (sidenote - ::grrrrr::  ) At least now i know there's a correlation, though.
