Inspirations, predictions...I'd love to hear them
As we have embarked on a new year, representing monumental change here in the US ( economy falling apart, new President, social change) I would love to hear what your inspirations for the new year as well as your predictions for the new year are. Here are a few of mine.
Predictions:
Politics
1) The economy will get worse, before rebounding in the 4th quarter of 2009
2) President Obama will face some terrorism threat/act within the first year of office. My fear is it will be big, it will succeed, and it will be nuclear.
Sports
1) Florida will win the NCAA national championship football game, The Carolina Panthers will win the SuperBowl, the New Orleans Hornets will make the Western Conference finals in the NBA.
2) LSU will be the team to beat in the sec football for the 09-10 season, but Miss State will surprise many.
Entertainment
1) U2 will embark on a world tour that will be their highest grossing tour to date.
2) Heath Ledger will win a best supporting actor oscar for his role in The Dark Knight, Clint Eastwood will win the best actor oscar for Grand Torino.
Electronics
1) Apple will introduce finally a net book and a smaller iphone at a lower price point...microsoft will groan loudly and discontinue the Zune.
2)Blu-ray prices will drop, as will the players, but the biggest fastest competion will be with streaming media...and blu-ray will lag behind for the time being.
Personal
1) I will get promoted with work, which will cause me to relocate...if I choose to accept the promotion.
2) I will resolve much, but accomplish little
