That's a good point. She was not a senator at the time. And it was a Republican congress. However, if she opposed them at the time, like she said she did, why didn't she express her views and influence on Bill, who was president at the time for him to veto it. At least they would have been on record for opposing it. Or even a signing statement. I guess it is because he has stated that marriage is an institution for the union of one man and one woman and opposes same-sex marriage. (Advocate 1996) It will be interesting, if her views are that different than his, to see if she will follow through and try to get some of it undone if she is elected. You're right, I should have done more fact checking before posting. I called out one of my family members on forwarding the email about Mr. Barak not placing his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance when the picture was actually taken during the National Anthem. And I just did the same thing in my post. Sorry.
Nor am I. That is why I was also talking about her healthcare plan and her possible handling of the economy. DOMA is a bit of a concern for us since David and I have paid ~$9k to get living wills, wills, power of attorney, HIPPA representatives, power of medical directives, etc. drawn up to protect ourselves and be able to stay in the hospital should anything happen to each other. Cause we live in Texas and as they say here "that just ain't natural". But DOMA is not my only concern. I do like her talk and ideas of getting the troops out and scaled back in 90 days.
