I wish I understood any of this...

"More and more, it appears as if the latest version of Ubuntu (8.04, Hardy Heron) has broken some key components for making the stylus work. Instead of continuing to fuck around with it, I'm going to go with the recommendation of the TC1100 Linux FAQ and downgrade to Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon). Hopefully that will simplify matters.
Additionally, I'm also doing a full bad-sector scan on a 300 GB hard drive on my desktop, so I'm posting this from the aforementioned back-up linux desktop.
