Hello everyone. It's Steven, and this has been my life for the past week and few days:
Friday, September 17:
After work, my mom took me to a bank and I opened up a savings account. I put $400 of my student loan into it, and kept the rest. I thought it was going to be split up from 1310, making it two disbursments of 655 dollars each, but they gave me the full amount all at once. (It wasn't exactly 1,310 dollars, since there was the money from my book voucher, as well as the garauntee fee for the loan.)
I also applied for an ATM card. I'm responsible now! Lol.
Saturday, September 18:
After work, my parents took me to Wal-Mart and I bought new clothes for school. I figured I would spend about $300, and my mom figured I would spend about $400. If I remember correctly, I paid less than $200.
I also got a fire-proof safety case with a lock, so I could put my bank account information and most of my money in.
After my little shopping spree, my parents dropped me off at the fairgrounds, and I stayed from a little before 6:00pm till a little past 9:00pm. I had a wonderful time at the fair. This year was the first year I tried the rock-climbing. Actually, I think this is the first time rock-climbing has been at the Pope County Fair. Anyway, the rock-climbing structure had three sides for people to climb up: easy, medium, and hard. I picked the hard level, and man was it ever! There was this big peace of rock sticking out, and I couldn't get my eithe leg over it enough to climb up any farther. I had two tries, and didn't make it to the top on both of them. It was still an awsome experience.
I was a little worried about feeling depressed about being by myself at the fair, but since I'm on Paxil CR, I didn't feel bad. Besides, I noticed there were other people who were by themselves, so it wasn't that bad for me.
Oh yeah.........I have to mention the games at the fair. One word: FAKE! Those games are so stupid! There was this one I tried where I had to roll a small ball down a lane and if I knocked over the 2 bottles, I would win a prize. Well, the right bottle always came tumbling down, but the left bottle, even though it moved back a few inches each time (2 times) when the ball came into contact with it, it didn't fall over. I could just tell that it was heavier than the bottle on the right, even though they looked exactly identical.
And then, there was the basketball game, where if I shot the ball into the basket, I would win something. I have a few tries, and couldn't make a shot. Well, I've never really practiced basktetball before, so it's understandable why I would be so bad at it. But still, most likely that game was somehow rigged as well.
I had a pretty good feeling that the other games at the fair were just as fake as the ones I played. But, of course, my determination to actually win a stuffed animal at the fair will surely make me play more games next year.
Monday, September 20:
I had my first English test and my first American History test on this day. I thought the English test was easy, and the History test wasn't too bad. (But I had no idea how I did until 2 days later...)
Oh yeah........I made an 85% on my English narrative essay. I really want to learn how to be a good writer, since I want to write a novel someday.
Tuesday, September 21:
After my night class, I went outside and waited for my parents to pick me up. Not too long after going out, my teacher and mentor came out, and they stood in the parking lot for a long time, chatting and laughing. I felt extremely uncomfortable, standing there in the dark, with those two talking to each other, knowing I was there as well. I can't wait until I get my own vehicle! My life would surely be a lot easier.
Wedesday, September 22:
UGH! I made a 64% on my history test! The test was 50 multiple choice questions, each worth 2 points, and I missed 18 questions. I really thought I made either a B or C. Oh well............could my low score be because I didn't read all of the reading assignments, and that I waited until the last minute to study, instead of frequently going over my notes from day one? Of course! I didn't get my english test back.
Friday, September 24:
My English teacher cancelled class yesterday. She wanted her Comp I students to work on our descriptive essays at home. I used the free time to work on math problems in the computer lab in the library.
During the hour before my last class, the choir came into the lobby where I was at, and they done some musical performances. It was awesome. After hearing such beautiful music, I want to join the choir! And I'm not the only one; there was this one woman who is thinking about joining as well.
After my history professor dismissed the class, I made an appointment with him to go over the test. He didn't give the actual test back to the class, because he might use some of those questions on that test on a later test. I really want to know which questions I missed. The appointment is Tuesday, September 28.
After school, I went to Counseling Associates to pick up some more Paxil CR samples. I also filled out a form for the patient-assistance program. I'm currently not working enough hours to be able to afford monthly prescriptions that cost over $90 each.
Saturday, September 25:
TODAY...was Ozark Memories Day for my community. Luckily, my mom didn't have to deal with the parade while taking me to work. The manager said that she would get me a uniform; I should have it sometime next week. She also told me to "hang in there" and I will be working longer shifts soon. That's good for me, because the more hours I work, the bigger my paycheck will be. Speaking of that, I still haven't received a check yet. Another manager told me they will be in the first of October.
Today, I wrote down the instructions on how to make the various sandwiches, so I could take them home and study them. However, I think actually making the sandwiches will help me more.
That's it for now. Later.
