Today I was sitting in the barber shop for three hours. Long time, but towards the end some guy came in and started talking the usual talk. Young kids, crazy, blah blah blah. Then he gave the usual, "if you set goals you got somewhere to go, if you don't you'll fail" I've heard that exact speech too many times, but for some reason it sounded important today. He said when you don't set goals, you don't achieve any accomplishments. For some reason it made me think of goals in a different way. If you do something that you don't really have to work in order to do, there is really no accomplishment when you finish it. I always wondered why everyone made such a big deal out of my sister graduating high school. She really worked hard in order to graduate. With me it was just second nature or something, i didn't have to work. Which is why graduating from high school seems to be the farthest thing from an accomplishment to me. Therefore, I have decided to set a number of goals. First goal I will graduate from college (and I will work to do it), I will graduate with at least a 3.0 and a 3.5 in my major, and I will start doing things to better myself (starting weekly, then hopefully going into a daily phase). Another goal is to start back working out, and taking vitamins (I don't see eating right fitting into my schedule at any time in the near future). And thats enough for now.
