Hakutaku: It's not as bad as you think

Some days I really just don't need encouragment, really. You encourage me and then I have to go out and do something about it. So, after being encouraged, here is the latest lolGuide.

This is a great guide, Beanie. =) Just wanted to say... I've done Hakutaku with around 12 people or less, and we've never lost against Hakutaku. (Things have gotten shakey especially when we did our first Hakutaku event, but we always managed to do everything just fine.)

My linkshell prefers to clear the area of million eyes in Camp B and do the actual fight in the small tunnel in the northern part of Camp B. (It has a canopy on the ceiling.) We rarely get adds this way and if we do, we have a bunch of melees clobbering the add. Also, we usually don't need a job with a disposable pet for the actual pull since we clear the camp area ahead of time.

The only downside is that this kind of positioning can get rather cramped and rangers will probably have a hard time getting into their ideal positioning. (We only have one high level ranger in our ls anyway, so... it really doesn't matter. He usually comes as paladin anyway as he has +enmity merits. XD)

For safety reasons, we have mages stand with their back facing Hakutaku in case one of the black mages gets hate and Hakutaku decides to do a nice Hex Eye at them. Also, white mages should consider figuring out who is casting Paralyna on whom ahead of time. This is to avoid multiple white mages from casting Paralyna on one person at the same time. XD

:D

The disposeable pet only applies to Camp C because of the distance and the fact that the person needs to be sneaked when they're running back to camp (dropping down on a flesh and bringing it with you would suck.)

I've done the camp you've described with randoms before and it was fun for getting destroyed at. Several clusters were lost that night on a really poorly organized outting :/ I didn't suggest it since it requires clearing to make it safe, it's not really a natural spot that's lacking mobs spawning there (like A and C are).

And yeah, smaller groups can do it, they can do it just fine if they know what they're doing. The guide's mostly aimed at first time organizer who doesn't know what they're doing and doesn't have a shell to take them. While writing this I assumed most of the people are 70 and in need of the hat (thus why the higher numbers of people suggested). If you have all 75s with merits, then hey, smaller group is just fine x3 They won't have nearly the accuracy issues and they can do more damage! But there's a world of difference between a lvl70 player, a lvl75 player, and a fully merited 75 player. Most people want the hat when they're at the lowest end of this developmental scale (if not lower so they have it ready when they hit 70). A lvl70 melee vs. a lvl85 mob, yeah, that's rough... hahahaha
