it was weird
I was in some kind of minecraft-esque maze of tunnels, but they were all grim and halloween-y and evil, like it was probably some kind of evil hell dimension. there was definitely something evil in there, like a cenobite, pursuing me idly, or maybe I had to avoid it
so naturally I try to escape through the tunnels, and eventually I discover that there's a hatch in a wall, that leads out of an air vent into a hotel corridor of some sort
there's nobody about, I go exploring for a bit, turns out that most of the air vent covers in the building lead into this evil black/red/firey hell thing
after about 30mins of exploration I come across this food-court/amusement arcade thing, like you'd get in a shopping centre
and there's a couple of late middle aged men in there bumbling about and looking forlorn
so I'm like "hey, um, where is the exit"
and the guy I'm talking to is like "there isn't one, I've been here about 4 years. We can't find a way out.", sounding totally resigned to his fate
so I'm like "hmm" and I got off and explore a corridor, and there's some kind of metal grille or panel in the wall the size of a door, which I prise off, and it reveals a staircase, which I walk down, and at the end there's a metal grille gate that opens onto the verge of a motorway, cars are passing
so I'm like "uh guys"
but they're too dumbstruck by the fact the exit has been 5 feet away from them for 4 years to answer, and they sort of just stare at me in shock while I open the gate and walk out onto the road
they don't follow, so I walk along the road, sort of unsure as to wtf is going on, passing a small retail park, which I look around, just to prove that there are other people about. It's that dusky kind of pre-sunset you only get in Europe or in dreams, where the sky is blue but everything's sort of tinged orange and shadowy
so I breathe a sigh of relief, and keep walking along this road, looking to hit some kind of town
after a while I come across this wooden shack/hut thing, which looks like a dilapidated market stall, just on the side of the road, and inside there's this meditating asian (? esque) man, and it transpires that this is some kind of seafood porridge stall (not even sure that exists as a food but w/e)
so I start talking to him in English, he's all "buh", so I try Japanese and he understands
explains to me that there's a town about 30mins way away in x direction, he can't pronounce the name but from the sounds of it we appear to be somewhere in Europe, probably France
so to thank him and out of curiosity I order some of this salmon porridge thing, which he starts making
a minute later a guy comes over, we're evidently near the seashore because he's been fishing, and he brings over this big oyster
which the Asian guy cracks open, and inside there's a black pearl, which he scoops out, there's still a tiny bit of oyster left stuck to it (not in a yucky way), and he hands it over to me and says "here you go, keep it. see if you can make it a bit nicer"
and then I wake up
