I had a long online discussion with my friend, Deuce, on the west coast, about which greek woman was the more tragic figure and who really represented feminist rage. I still have sympathy for Medea because even though she killed her children in her rageful vengeance, she answered Jason's why with "Because I hated you more than I loved them." But Medusa was raped by Poseidon and, depending on your story teller, was either transformed into a gorgon by Athena or transformed herself. Either way, she was very wronged by the gods.
Lysistrata is actually the best feminist in greek mythology, but she is hard to translate to halloween costume. I mean, sure, a toga, but what would make it her and not just some random grecian babe? Tightly closed legs?
