Obon Night the wooden door of the Kouyou’s household was slipped open, revealing two figures standing outside of the door, half-soaked by the night rain.
“Ruki…” Reita murmured in shock as he recognized one of the figures right away as Ruki but what he didn’t expect was that the shorter man was currently unconscious and was leaning heavily against the black hair man who was holding him upright, Reita would never expect himself to meet Ruki again under such condition. And it took a few seconds for the blonde to remember that he had also seen this man before.
“Yutaka-san? is that you?” Reita quickly moved aside to make way for the black hair man to enter, dragging the still unconscious Ruki with him. The tall blonde man was surprised to recognize the young gardener he’d met in the temple now standing at the doorstep of the Kouyou’s residence.
It seemed that Kai was just as surprised as he had just been as the realization sank in. “Reita-san it’s you,” the gardener expressed his surprise as he walked in. “I didn’t know you’re staying with the Kouyou family…”
“Small world.” Reita smiled a little as he moved to close the door, then he asked. “how did you come together with my friend?”
“So he’s your friend…” Kai mumbled with confusion in his eyes before he continued. “I was making my way home but I saw your friend passing out beside the road, I kind of bring him here since it was what your friend wanted…”
they carried Ruki into the living room, as they walking across the hallway Reita noticed that Ruki seemed to be having a fever.
after they settled the unconscious man on the tatami, Reita hurried upstairs for pillow and warm blanket for the short blonde, before he returned to the living room, he grabbed the cold pack from the refrigerator. With Kai’s help he wrapped the blanket around the sleeping blonde’s body and placed the cold pack on his forehead in order to lower his temperature.
“He’s doing okay it seems…” Kai commented, observing the sleeping blonde. “But I’ll still suggest to call for a doctor, would you like me to make the call for you? I remember that you are a visitor here.”
Reita nodded tiredly. ”Thank you, Kai-san; you do me and my friend a big favor.”
“No big deal.” The gardener smiled and fished out his cell phone as he stood up and excused himself outside to call the doctor. When he returned he informed Reita that it will take some time for the doctor to arrive but he was on his way. Reita offered to make tea for Kai as he taking a rest and began to tell what had happened at length.
After he heard how Kai discovered Ruki passing out in a pavilion beside the road that led to the Kouyou’s residence, he was even more disturbed than before, Ruki’s condition made him worry, and he still wondered what exactly did the shorter man planned to discuss with him, but now everything had to wait till the other man got well again.

about 10 more minutes later it was still raining, Kai decided there was nothing more he could do and decided to leave; Reita saw him to the front door. It seemed that the sooner the black hair man could go home the better it was, since judging from the way the heavy clouds hovering low above head it was obvious that another rainstorm was on its way.
The black hair man couldn’t get rid of the odd feeling he had the whole while he was with this Ruki person, something seemed to be…wrong about this man, although he couldn’t tell exactly what was so wrong about him.
The man whom now he knew called Ruki had fainted when they walking the stairs up the hill that Kai had to hold him and keep him standing upright for the rest of the way uphill. It was quite a struggle since Kai also had to keep his umbrella upright at the same time. He was worry since Ruki didn’t seem fully conscious, leaning against him, his head bowing forward, and the gardener swore that he could hardly feel the other man’s warmth. So the black hair man had to put his worry and discomfort aside since he knew he needed to get the obviously unwell man to shelter and gave him some proper help soon....
When Kai finally reached to the top and he knocked on the door, waiting for the people inside to open up for them, then he felt the shorter man moved out of the blue. Before he could react the blonde leaned in and said something to him; it frozen the blood in his veins out of fear and surprise; the voice was barely audible but it reached Kai’s ear clearly and chilled his heart with unexplainable dread.
“You do bring me here, after all…”
It was what the other man had said to him right before the door was slipped open and Reita stepped out to meet them. Ruki didn’t say any other word again and he didn’t move or react to anything all the while the two men settling him down. It almost tricked Kai into thinking he’d imagined thing, but on the other hand he couldn’t deny what he’d just heard, the man did utter those words to him! still it was a weird statement, the blonde did not say: “thank you for bringing me here”, but You do bring me here, after all…
Now leaving the Kouyou’s residence behind and on his way home, Kai only hopped that Reita would watch out for his friend, something didn’t seem to be right with him and someone needed to figure it out.
it took him a long time to realize why the short blonde man’s presence and his strange speech disturbed him so greatly, it was because the tone of the other man’s eerie speech reminded him so much with the ghostly boy he had encountered in the night of Obon Festival.

shortly after Kai’s departure, Reita went upstairs to check if Uruha was okay, only to find the light hair one sleeping peacefully the same like he left him before. The blonde sighed in relief as he closed the door and started going back to the ground floor, it had been an eventful night and he felt worn after everything had quiet down; he still had Ruki’s condition to worry about, the doctor had still not yet arrive; maybe he should prepare some warm drink for the latter in case he came to?
With that thought in his mind, Reita hurried down the stairs; he was still half way through when he found Ruki standing at the other side of the hallway, having his side leaning against the wall near him, his head lowered and bangs of blonde hair hidden his face from sight, one of his arms bent and hidden behind his back, he didn’t move a muscle when Reita hesitatingly approaching him.
“Ruki…what are you doing here?” now moving to the hallway, Reita asked the shorter one in concern.
the other man didn’t answer, nor did he move or look up.
Unseen by Reita, at the far end of the hallway, a doors that led to the garden was left open; just outside of these doors, the cut pieces of remain of a wet thick white color rope, which had been previously wrapped around the sakura tree, was now laying among the trump stones.
“Look, you should lay down and take a rest…” with that Reita came closer and reached out his arm, trying to touch Ruki on the shoulder. It was then Ruki did move, he leaned forward as if out of exhaustion, the taller man stepped forward to catch hold of Ruki just in time before he fell, but he didn’t notice Ruki’s hand leaving its previous position, nor did he see the sharp object in the latter’s hand.
“Are you okay…?”
Reita didn’t even have the time to finish his sentence, as the sharp piercing pain he had never experienced before spreading from his left side. The blonde pushed away from the shorter man instantly, and that was what had probably saved his life. Now drawing a safe distance with the shorter man, Reita stared at him in shock as he saw the bloodied knife in his right hand.
It wasn’t real, Reita tried to find some explanation for the situation, he couldn’t believe Ruki had done it. Before he knew it his hand had reached to his aching side then his fingertips touched upon something wet, he looked down to see it really was blood on his hand, and the blood was also spreading on the material of his clothes.
The blonde looked up to his ex-lover again to find the other one still standing where he was in the darken hallway, he still couldn’t see his face clearly but he could make out of the cold smile that was spreading on his lips. Somehow this cruel smile pained him even more than the wound on his side.
“Ruki…why…?” pressing his hand on the wound in hope to slow the bleeding, Reita asked weakly for an explanation as he felt his keens about to give in, forcing him to back away until his back hit the wall, allowing him to lead against it for support.
“You deserve it, fool…” the shorter man’s lips moved to form words slowly and impassively.
only then did the other man looked up to stare right into the taller one’s eyes, one single look into those lifeless pools of darkness was all it took for Reita to realize it wasn’t Ruki whom he was facing, Ruki would never, never do that to him, he would never hurt anyone like this! …someone, or something else had taken over the shorter man, something unwholesome and evil.
“Oh…you deserve worse…” that something was talking to him through Ruki’s mouth now, its voice icy cold and filled with hatred.

ARGHHH!!! somebody please tell me what to write next!>_<
So evil Aoi possessed Ruki’s body…*smirks*
I’d thought about Aoi possessing Reita before then we might have some ReitaxUruha non-con/lemon going on…but I got a hold of my running-wild imagination.*sweatdrops* so bye bye ReitaxUruha lemon!
My consideration is, Reita seems to be totally insensitive about ghosts that makes him hard to possess, and ReitaxUruha isn’t my thing really.^^;
Having Ruki hurting Reita made me feel so much better.XD
