lol thanks ^_^ i actually co-own it with Reita-kun... she actually hates LJ, so i'm the one lurking on here xDD there's only one white-stellar/white_stellar in the internet! xDD she's the one who made the layout, i'll pass that msg on to her though =]

first, it's better to use clear sharp images that have high resolution so it can be easily resized. second, it's also good to have clear sharp font, to give it a more professional look. next is blending, if you don't using blending techniques, it looks botched and unprofessional, cut and paste to put it simply. that goes for text too. you can't just have a picture and put text on it and say you've made a wallpaper. also, wallpapers come in standard sizes. 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x800 are the most common ones. and for the nice 21inch widescreen, it's 1920x1200. it's best to make wallpapers in those sizes so the image doesn't get distorted when the person uses it. it would be helpful to look at some tutorials too. i find it helpful all the time! and if you think wallpapers are hard, start off with icons, then work your way up! there are many many many icon tutorials out there, especially here on LJ, icon_extras and i have made a tutorial too! (i don't usually, but since a friend requested it) ... )
