trip to jacksonville

Jul 31, 2005 21:47

so i know this guy who ive known for a while and he finally got dumped by this other guy and about 2 months later i asked him out and he said yes so i went to jax to see him...

adventures ensue...
on i-4 around deland there was an SUV engulfed in flames on the side of the road billowing smoke...

people dont know how to drive in

- the rain
- the dark
- the light. when the speed limit is 70 mph and your driving 62 in the fast lane - GET THE FUCK OVER!!!
perhaps you missed that sign stating "slower traffic keep to the right"

in jax i was waiting for aforementioned guy to get off work from applebees when i saw a man - a drunken man, try to goin the kitchen and am employee told him he couldnt be there so of course the man turned to leave but instead of leaving hi punched the employee in the face - twice. then as he got pushed out of the kitchen he punched the guy in the face again twice. then he went back to his table, didnt pay his check, walked out the restaurant got in his car and drove off.

then i was enjoying the date time - went for a drive around jax, then to steak n shake - then to riverwalk - a walk around the st johns river... they have this train bridge thats up all the time to let boats thru and this time it came down to let a train go by...

then we went home and snuggled all nite and i left this afternoon... the ride home was rather fun... lots of rain and traffic and more people who cant drive...

one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone from the lane next to me changes lanes right behind me so they are insta tailgating me. especialy when i have no where to drive as that car in front of me is going the same speed i am. so as such when that happens i take my foot off the gas... and when i did that today aforementioned car decided it would go around me. now normally thats a good idea cuz then i speed up and piss them off even more but this particular driver was talking onher cell phone and doing make up and didnt notice the car next to her in her blind spot and promptly smashed into that car at which point i accelerated - able to do so since i wasnt tailgating the car in front of me and avoided the chain reaction... watching cars go sideways across 95 is interesting to see in your rear view mirror...

on the way home i got hungry and for soem reason i was craving mcdonalds fries - even after having watched Super Size Me. so i stopped and they had this grilled chicken blt on wheat bread... it seemed kinda healthy.... went with that. fries were greasy good ness..

the rest of the trip was fairly uneventful... cut off 95 to LPGA to 92 to i-4 where the traffic was so so... came home - round trip was almost 300 miles...
