Wow.
What a productive day and it's only 4.17pm.
1. I had a study leave day in Bradford today. It was the first time I've been back to BRI since I stopped working there about 2 years ago, talk about nostalgia, hankies at the ready etc!
Actually they've changed some bits of the hospital - without asking me too, how dare they! - and I couldn't figure out what was going on. They've got rid of the nice lawn with the old benches outside Field House and replaced it with a big day surgery block. What a rotten thing to do!
Anyway, back to efficiency drive, the day was already timetabled to be nice and short - 9.30 - 3.30, got the train and the bus in because I didn't fancy finding somewhere to park, always difficult. Got there on time, we started on time - amazingly enough and even with a coffee break (essential) still finished at 12.20. That's my idea of good planning!
2. Got a lift home - so saved £1.20 in bus fare,
3. went to the supermarket and remembered everything I had to get even though I'd left my list at home!
4. Got home, made lunch, did the washing up and cleaned the kitchen,
5. also managed to book my car in for a service on Thursday in Halifax.
6. Then sat down, read a few chapters of psychology and
7. completed all the statistical analysis for my audit which is not being presented until next month.
Not a bad day's work, all in all. I can go to the prayer meeting tonight without thinking of what I should have done! Maybe I am turning into some kind of efficiency driven professional - I feel like I am satisfied with what I have done but I don't think it's really the shape of things to come! *sigh of relief*
Tomorrow will probably go back to status quo.
My house is still not tidy, that's probably an indicator that no fundamental change has occurred and life goes on. Probably quite a good thing that some things remain stable, although thank the Lord that the really important things do not, at least not until they are perfected which is unlikely to be completed this side of eternity!
See you soon peeps...maybe sooner than you think! (and on that cryptic note I'll leave it there...)
