While I've yet to know of anyone who was on the bridge as it collapsed or anyone whose family member may have been, I can't help but feel the ax will fall. A tragedy such as this will illustrate how well the 6 degrees of separation can work. A very dear friend was within 150 feet of crossing the bridge at the time it collapsed, but he is fine. Prayers for everyone involved.
I also didn't get a great deal of sleep last night, partly due to the disaster and my sweetie was out of town for work. I left work yesterday picking up my Aunt to visit Mom in Stillwater. Had a certain highway not been closed for major construction and had I left work at a normal time, my aunt and I most likely would have been there at that exact moment. How fragile and precarious is life.
