(no subject)
First of all..
The McKenzie police department did something right this morning.
So..I'm asleep..and my roommate wakes me up at 7:00 and says "um the police want to talk to you on the phone."
So I'm thinking what the heck is she talking about..but I get up and answer it. This police officer is like "Do you know Jonathan Flippin?" and I said "Pretty sure I don't.." and he said "Do you have a prescription for Tylenol 3?" and I said "Yep." and he said "Go check your car, we have your stuff." So I go outside and sure enough..every CD I own is missing..and I own..like..a million cd's..seriously. and two bags like..purses but I'm not lame enough to carry purses so I prefer to say..satchels. ONE OF THEM CONTAINING MY DEBIT CARD holy crap. Apparently the police officer pulled him over for speeding and decided to search his car..and found my prescription and..yep. Anyway so here I sit..waiting on the police officer to get here so I can fill out a report and get my crap back and go eat a Mcgriddle. Bethel security has already talked to me twice..like they are really going to be able to do anything..right now they are parked right in front of my car just starring at it..as if they think the man who is already under arrest is going to come back to get my car again.? Dumb. Where were they at last night when that guy was stealing all my stuff?
Chicago was amazing. We stayed in the south side...in..the ghetto. I mostly worked in the north side..with the latinos..because I'm obsessed. I have a lot of pictures. The long and short of it is that I worked at an after school program and then at the largest homeless shelter like in the whole world. I got to ride the el train! I got to go to China Town. I went downtown and it snowed. I saw all of those really cool buildings that I always see on TV. The city makes me moderately nervous..too many people ..and unhappy people too..no one ever smiles when they are downtown..it's like an unwritten rule or something. I think I could maybe stay in a city like that for a summer or so..I wouldn't want to stay for an extended period of time..but a little while would be really cool.
