Hmm, I had started this off as a nice post about how new years was so much fun, and I can't wait to discover the excitement of 2005, but now I'm thinking, fuck that for a game of soldiers. (And yes, I may be a bit hungover, and thus, not of the happy).
I spent new years at Milson's point, a wonderful place with idylic views, until the tween skank army moved in, drank until they passed out, and got carried away by paramedics. Great way to start the year. We couldn't see much of the nine o'clock fireworks, because we couldn't get into the bloody managed area, because we had alcohol. They were selling it inside these areas anyway. Yes, this makes little sense. We got fed up with the underage idiots so we drank the rest of the alcohol, and went into the managed area. At twelve, and fireworks went off. They weren't that impressive, and that disco ball thing was lame. My friends then proceeded to tell me that they really didn't want me to leave, confusing this possible newcastle thing further. Because of crowds and some insane people it took 2.5 hours to make a 40 minutes trip back to a friends house.
I woke up feeling crappy, confused, and now that I'm home, I'm gonna watch some tv, have a shower, and go to bed. Welcome to 2005!
Oh, and even more fun, I'm being dragged (almost physically) to Orange to visit my grandmother. This means a four hour car trip with the family (except the lucky older bro, who doesn't have to go) followed to three days and two nights of pure boredom (and likely a fair amount of critisism) and then to finish the nightmare, another car trip home. Add to this the fact that I get bad headaches if I'm in the car for more than an hour, and you've got yourself a recipe for hell. So this is adding to my fabulous mood as well.
On a good note, I have got the specs on my likely new computer, and it is shiny. Very shiny. 19" LCD monitor shiny.
