One Small Failure...

This morning, I hoped the worst that could happen on public transport was the crazy lady behind me as I got on the train shoving me with all her might like she didn't think she would get on the train, and trying to push past me like she was more important than everyone else boarding the train.

The weather was terrible today, and some of the time at work was spent debating changes to the Flexitime working system (including mandatory lunch breaks of at least 45 minutes). The tube was rammed on the way back, and just as I thought it couldn't get worse, it did - I arrived at King's Cross, only to find that all trains were delayed. They announced that a train that would take me home was on platform 9, so everyone started heading towards it. It was massively crowded, and partly because people were hanging around on the platforms, getting in the way of everyone else.

I got onto the train, which was gradually filling up; people were getting really angry, and shouting at people to move down, and it became evident that someone was sitting in the aisle with a laptop taking up a lot of space, and refusing to move so that more people could get on.

For some reason, the train company thought it was a good idea to add extra stops, the first one being at Finsbury Park; at first, we thought we were safe because everyone else was on another platform, but they soon came running over. One guy decided it wasn't worth getting on, but a Northern Irish guy decided to try his luck; he was quite friendly actually, but then the police got involved because there was some trouble. A policewoman started angrily geticulating into the carriage we were on and trying to make us move up, but no one could; eventually, people were turned away by the station staff.

It took me 90 minutes to get home, but it seemed a lot longer due to the cramped conditions, and to make things more fun, I had to visit the doctor and go shopping before I could finally rest.
