Sorting Things Out
My day has consisted of some shopping and getting bills paid. I spent some of the morning going to look for sets of darts on sale in shops, and I bumped into two guys pushing trolleys full of Argos catalogues, so I took one. For some reason, the guy's friend started jokingly suggesting I might want a second one. I saw the same guys later on and had to remind them I'd already taken one of their catalogues.
I also bought some new socks in a shop staffed by two lads wearing beanies (whether this is part of the official uniform, or they just both decided they liked the style, I have no idea); this allowed me to throw out a lot of socks with holes in, and I've found that I somehow ended up with two odd socks - it's quite weird.
I also used the Argos catalogue to look up the prices of sets of darts and I managed to get some nice ones, and lots of spare flights. Everyone else (almost everyone, anyway) at the darts club now has their own darts, and the ones provided in the pub are quite rubbish - mainly because the flights constantly fall off, or the darts feel like they will fall apart. I only hope it isn't cancelled again this week.
I also did myself a pork chop with a grilled vegetable salad tonight, which was delicious; it was the first time I'd cooked butternut squash, and it is tasty.
