Social Evening
Nobody at work could believe I was going out for a social thing on Monday night, but someone from the church had put on an event at her flat for the welcoming team.
We spent the start of the evening talking about today being "Blue Monday", and the most miserable day of the year, which was news to me; there were also stories about break ins, people smashing windows in and being caught by the police who had just shown up, moments when we dialled 999, and the best of all:
"A patient did not show up for an appointment; he was coming in because of memory problems".
We had a good time, and ended up discussing Boris bikes (London's cycle hire scheme), and watching Youtube videos, including "Never Say No to Panda", and also talking about whether pandas were real or just people in costumes. I did admit that I had a childhood obsession with pandas, and still have a book full of pictures of them.
