The Divine Comedy

Last night I watched some of my Buffy and Angel DVDs - to be precise, I watched Buffy Episode 6X20: Villains, followed by Angel Episode 3X20: A New World; two episodes that shouldn't be watched together if you need cheering up because of the unpleasant subject matter (characters getting skinned alive, shot and dying of a heroin overdose). My favourite scene in the latter episode is where Lilah comes to Wesley's house, where he is alone because he took Connor away and is afraid to return to the Hyperion because Angel will kill him; she hands him a copy of Dante's Inferno (untranslated, because Wesley is brainy and loves that type of stuff). Lilah starts talking about how the man judged to be the worst sinner ever was Judas, and tells Wesley that even he isn't too good to join Wolfram & Hart.

It occurred to me, however, that I could try and download the Divine Comedy to my Kindle, since I've never actually read it - so I did it earlier tonight, while I was stuck on the train for half an hour (possibly more) due to a broken down train on the track ahead. It wasn't a fun journey, and I was glad to be home.

I'll make a few posts about Dante's works when I start reading them.
