Day 4
We went to Publix to get food in the morning and had lunch in the hotel room; we had it later than planned because we were waiting for the maid to finish.
For some reason the maid had an obsession with soap; she would usually leave a fresh bar of soap in my room, even though I had not finished my old one; a few times, she acutually chucked away my barely-used soap. She also had many different and strange ways of organising my pillows.
We spent the afternoon in Typhoon Lagoon, and I spent most of my time going on the two rubber ring rides - Mayday Falls and Keelhaul Falls. Near to the end of the day, there actually was a typhoon (or near enough) and the pool and rides were closed down for a while; a lot of people left at this point so the queues were shorter. I went on one of the ring rides and nobody else was going on it; I asked the guy whose job it was to push the rubber rings down the slide if he got bored; he told me he just used his imagination! There was also a very camp looking guy going around in pink speedos and he had a pink chest piercing and I swear he was eyeing me up at one point, which was quite embarrassing since I'm not gay.
I got talking to a Scottish guy in the changing rooms, and he told me how he was in Orlando for three weeks. We went to Downtown Disney straight after, and tried to go in the Rainforest Cafe, but the waiting time was too long so instead we went to the Dinosaur restaurant.
I got this picture of the sunset:
Day 5
We went to Universal Studios, which has a lot of new rides. We headed to the Simpsons ride first, and then queued up for Men in Black after putting our loose items in a locker. We queued up for ages and were then told that the ride was experiencing "Technical Difficulties" and so lots of people, including us, left. There was chaos at the lockers and they used an annoying electronic system where we had to give our fingerprint and then key in the locker number and I could not remember my number - I finally managed to get my stuff back and we went to the Jaws ride, only to find that THEY were experiencing technical difficulties too. We managed to go on it later, though, and we also went on Revenge of the Mummy and then we watched the Shrek 3D film.
I took a few pictures; these are some of the best:
We had a massive storm in the evening and we sat in the car for an hour until it died down, then we went to the Golden Corral, which is an all-you-can-eat buffet place. The guy serving us said it was the start of the storm season!
