This isn't quite my favourite one, just to avoid any clashes with Day 31, but this is a favourite horror drama film of mine.
Carrie
It's not exactly a cheerful film, what with Carrie's tragic life - abused by others at school, and her own mother, so it's hard to watch in places, but it's a really good film - certainly one of the better Stephen King adaptations.
The cinematic style is mesmerising in places, particularly the lead-up to the big climax at the prom.
And then, there's that final scene; it has one of cinema's best jumpscares (though I'm not going to pick it as best jumpscare in a film when that comes up).
The acting is also top-notch; Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie are great; I usually forget that John Travolta is also in this.
