Lockdown, Day #141

Picture from another exploratory walk, close to where I went last Monday morning. I don't think I'd make that path a regular "haunt" because the ground is quite uneven.

I had a couple more, but imgur is being awkward as usual.

I did get past that annoying boss fight on Super Paper Mario last night; I did what I don't like to do - I waved a white flag by reading a walkthrough; I never like to do that - turns out that it required an unusual amount of lateral thinking. The game is okay so far, but the segment where Mario and Princess Peach get forced into slave labour isn't as fun as the game seems to think it is. I think I might need a new Wiimote, as the game won't register when I point it at the screen, as it's meant to do. Don't you just hate when technology doesn't work as it should? And the batteries seem to be fine.

I've been hearing more about the proposals to put up security cameras outside the flats; it's a good idea, especially as sometimes I do now see small groups congregating in the entrance area of the flats in the evening. They could be residents - I never get close enough to find out; I don't want to be caught staring if they're a group of possibly stabby teenagers.

I did some cleaning up, and adding stuff, to two books in progress. The fairy tale characters/reformed villains one still has no title; any ideas will be much appreciated - just think about book involving a rehab scheme for the bad guys. New ideas seem to blossom with that one all the time, and I started with little idea of direction; now I'm just spotting inconstencies and continuity errors all over the place, the risk that comes from not writing a book in a linear fashion.

For "Soccer Nan", I took a tip from Patrick Ness and Roald Dahl, by not giving names to the adult characters; they certainly often don't bother themselves - The Twits has Mr. and Mrs. Twit as the main characters.

I forgot the thing that I'm somewhat enjoying most - I'm unlikely to be back in the office before Christmas, so I'll be going for longer without a rush out the door in the morning to get to the station. Apparently the office is being renovated, and will only take 40% of staff from September, so I won't even recognise the place. I'm told the belongings I left there are safe.
