I'm thinking that if I designed a social distancing-complaint system, it would be totalitarian to the point of being unreal.
We've observed a lot of difficult people who didn't seem to know how to do it on our day out today, including:
1) Incorrect mask wearing,
2) Lack of masks in places where they were required (the cathedral) without lanyards identifying the people as exempt from having to wear masks,
3) Veering towards us while we're trying to keep our distance,
4) Not bothering to drop to single file while passing us and
5) Ignoring one-way systems.
It was overall quite a nice day out, though, and we had tea in the cathedral, annoyed only by the fact that a man squeezed behind my chair as though it were the only way past. People who know me well will realise that any invasion of my personal space of that kind will result in me wanting to explode, and I often like to sit where I've not got something behind me that anyone is likely to use as a thoroughfare.
We had a picnic outside and sat, reading, for a while, before having a walk in the park, avoiding the City centre, which we feared would be manic. We finished the day with a meal in the waffle house, where people were worst at ignoring the one way sytem, and the markings for where people were supposed to wait. The staff said absoultely nothing to any of these people, and it felt like we were the only ones being rules-compliant.
There was a stop off at the supermarket, and two of us hung around, waiting, because we can't stand when people go around the supermarket in groups (Long digression/rant: people, it's not a social activity; I swear some people must be saying to their flatmates: "Where are we going? Oh, let's go shopping, that will be fun to do togther". If you're using a trolley, it only takes one of you, and it's an easy item to keep others at bay).
I'm at home now, with half an eye on my friend's live video game stream (yes, not board games as I thought at first).
I wanted to include a picspam from today, including pictures of all the geese we saw (plus one gosling) but imgur is being difficult; so this is the only one that I managed to upload.
