Does anyone else find themselves having dreams where they're acting out the plot of a book/movie they loved as a kid? I do.
I used to have numerous ones where I was going around Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and ones about Watership Down, but here's the one I had last night:
It was based on The Wizard of Oz
It was actually totally different from the story. It started off with my Sister finding a magic lamp and rubbing it so a genie came out (what the heck?), and started telling us about "saving Dorothy", so then the genie made a tornado and sucked us up into it. The next thing I know, we were in Oz - everything was black and white.
The next bit involved witnessing this guy in a shop getting sucked up by a tornado, and then the genie telling us: "Follow the yellow brick road, and ask the Scarecrow for help". Then he rushed off. We could now hear the "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" song, but no Munchkins appeared.
The yellow brick road seemed to go all over the place - around a bunch of hedges, and there was some strange creature that attacked us at one point. Eventually we found the scarecrow who, for some reason, was this guy from my Taekwon-Do class. The entire conversation seemed to go
Me: Hello?
Scarecrow: Hello
Me: Hello
Scracrow: Hello
Me (to my Sister, who was with me): Wow, he talks!
Before we'd got into the conversation about if only the scarecrow had a brain, though, I woke up - cursing my inablity to stay asleep and continue this awesome dream.
