Gulliver's Travels (the Jack Black version)
When I saw who was in the cast, I did have high hopes for this film, despite the bad reviews it was getting.
When I watched the film, I realised why critics didn't like it. Let's go through it all:
1) While most of the cast are good, Jack Black is just really annoying here, throughout the whole film.
2) Jack Black pees on a fire to put it out; Jonathan Swift most likely turned in his grave.
3) The fact that most of the film was all about Liliputt, despite the book itself having a lot of places that he visited; it barely mentioned the giant country, and there was no sign of the land of the hounyhyms (probably spelled wrong).
4) Nothing too bad about Chris O'Dowd, but I don't remember his character being in the book at all; there was definitely no Aliens-type robot suit.
5) The song and dance number at the end - just embarrassing.
