Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm almost done with work for the year.
We had a first (probably) at our carol service yesterday lunchtime, when someone walked up to the front who was either drunk or mentally ill. The man was wearing a Christmas jumper, and shaking his fist at members of the congregation.
I decided that if this person wasn't crazy or drunk, the church had chosen a very eccentric person (to say the least) to do their next Bible reading. It was pretty obvious that we wasn't meant to be there, and as the real speaker came to the front he just stood by the lectern, and was asked to sit down. This very quickly led to him being ushered out of the church; I could hear him shouting indignantly as he was pushed out the door.
I went to another carol service in the evening; this was an "alternate" one put on by my Sunday church, and it involved us having a procession through the church while a solo was being sung. It was definitely nothing like a typical carol service, as we had a lot of meditation and creative thinking, and this was followed by a pub trip.
I worked from home today; I finally got that parcel that I was trying to collect from the supermarket, which was a great relief. I think I overdid my run to taekwon-do tonight; I was out of breath and felt slightly giddy when I returned; I think I'll have to rein in the jogging regime for a while.
I'm so glad that I've got just one day left at work. I wish I could get rid of this cough that's plaguing me.
"The Good Place" has just come to UK TV so I've been watching that; a strong start so far, certainly.
