This is back after a bit of break:
http://www.shaenon.com/monsteroftheweek/2018/06/08/x-18/ I didn't really enjoy this episode - some dialogue was just annoying, and it was weird having very little of Mulder and absolutely no Scully at all, and David Duchovny as the only regular/semi-regular in the entire episode.
I think I was a little bummed that the late Darren McGavin (much hyped) was only in the episode to provide wraparound narration sequences.
Yet, since I first watched this, other shows like Lost, The Walking Dead and Westworld have done similar style episodes by throwing out the format and giving all of their regulars a break for one week.
Strangely, I was more accepting of "The UnNatuaral" from Season 6, which is basically this episode plus humour plus the Alien Bounty Hunter plus baseball plus Scully.
