Random book that I picked up out of curiosity.
I have a fascination with the history of London's underground network, and this book talks about where every station got its origin, and most of the time it's a place name derived from something dating back over 1,000 years.
The book talks about what the name meant in old English and how the names changed over the years; it was all very interesting, although at times I felt that there was quite a lot to have to take in.
However, this book is quite short and gives information about every location very succinctly, so making it an easy book to just pick up and dip into.
