30 Day Horror Movie Challenge Day 30: My Favourite all time Horror Movie
I did say this would make an appearance; also my #2 favourite movie of all time.
Aliens (James Cameron, 1986)
I find this one to be superior to the original, just in terms of its script, and its epic nature, particularly with the storyline about Ripley and Newt.
What really makes this movie for me is the second half, with Ripley's desperate efforts at saving Newt, and the amazing climactic battle.
Get away from her, you b****!
The movie is only spoiled by what happens to Newt in Alien 3, probably the most harsh thing ever to happen in the whole franchise and which almost makes Ripley's heroic efforts in this one seem a waste.
[Spoiler for Alien 3]Newt dies in a freak accident off screen; I know the girl who played her would have gone through puberty, but couldn't they have dropped her off at another planet or something instead?
