The last day was spent at Aquatica, the water park. However, the moment we arrived, a storm broke out and all the rides were closed. We found a spot anyway and sheltered from the torrential rain under a parasol that wasn't really cut out for the job; we were still getting wet while underneath it. It was an impressive sight though, mostly because of the dramatic shafts of lightning we kept seeing.
When the rain stopped and they opened the rides, it was good fun, although many of the rides seemed almost like a free-for-all; in many cases, you are lined up adjacent to someone else on the ride, and basically you have to be polite and let the person who got there first go before you, and hope others will show you the same courtesy.
I had an enjoyable last day.
I was relieved to get on the plane to go home; going through security was embarrassing as I forgot my wallet was in my pocket and walked through the metal detector with it. I bought a copy of Mad magazine (something hard to come by back home in Britain).
I got very little sleep on the plane, because I find it impossible to sleep on a plane, and I had someone else who had reclined their seat in front of me, so my space was a bit restricted. As a rule, I don't recline my own seat because I don't want to tick off the person behind me.
The plane was also delayed, and I was very tired when I got home at 2pm GMT the next day.
Overall, a good holiday, with lots of good memories.
