My Christmas

First off, a belated Happy Christmas to everyone:

I've been spending time with the family, first off going to the local(ish) panto on a cold and blustery Monday afternoon; we could hear the rain beating down on the roof while we were in the auditorium.

I'm using a computer that thinks it knows better than me so excuse me if I end up posting some odd words because it likes to autocorrect stuff a lot.

Christmas with the family has been good fun, despite some tension about going to visit Dad and his partner on Saturday, which often can be difficult. There was some stress this morning, but apart from that we've got on well, and we had Dad round for dinner on Christmas Eve.

We spent Christmas Day together in the house, and played the new game we got for Mum, "Touring Britain"; I got a good haul of presents myself, including the Red Dwarf X DVDs I wanted, new shoes, tickets to watch "Jeeves and Wooster" (based on the P.G. Wodehouse novels), and a new alarm that shines a light that gets brighter half an hour before you get up, allowing you to wake naturally. It wasn't quite the same without Grandma, but we did watch the Christmas Doctor Who. It will be sad not having Matt Smith again on the show (unless they bring his Doctor back like David Tennant in the anniversary special). I've heard that apparently my aunt went at one point to Grandma's house and looked through her wardrobe, then told her to get rid of lots of stuff that were "too young" for her to wear - what's with that? I don't understand my family sometimes.

We had a walk this morning after seeing a Muntjak Deer in the garden, which I got a picture of. A muntjak deer is a very small type of deer that we get a lot of in the town where we live.

This was taken from the window and I was zooming the best I could on my camera phone.

The walk took us to the local pub, and we sat in there mostly talking about Doctor Who and I was having to explain the plot as best as I could; we were lucky to get a seat as lots of people came in and stood around, occasionally putting stuff on our table without asking first. There were morris dancers there and so a crowd was outside watching the performance.

Overall it's been a good Christmas.
