This was a very funny episode, with Julian Barratt playing a character who was three parts Alan Partridge, one part Arnold Rimmer. I thought at first it would be too much like the second episode of series one with George and his mentor, but there weren't a lot of similarities.
The story with Hal and the other ghost was really good, especially when she revealed for not-so-ladylike side; she got some amazing scenes, and I'm wondering if she will appear again. I was sad about Hal's lying; I don't know if Mr. Crumb (vamped) counts as a kill or not, though he evidently had to do it (like Mitchell with that kid in series one). The ending was quite shocking, but I could see why Hal reacted like that, showing his dark side. While it will probably become very similar to some of Mitchell's plotlines, it will be interesting to see what happens next with Hal having to dispose of a body.
I enjoyed Tom's storyline and I felt really sorry for him after he got all that bad advice. It was nice to mention McNair again, though.
