I could not believe the awful journey I had into work this morning; it was fine until the place where I usually change trains, then I saw the platform was packed out. I couldn't even get onto the first train, although lots of people attempted to do it even though there was no space.
I finally forced my way onto the next train, as everyone packed on and I was left with no room to move. At the next stop, even more people decided to get on and then the driver made an announcement over the tanoy that people were not meant to be in the unoccupied drivers' carriages in the middle (the train was actually two trains joined together to make it longer), and demanded that whoever was in there come out because if they touched the wrong thing, they would "go up in a puff of blue smoke".
This person either couldn't understand English or was a complete idiot, as they did not do anything, and the driver got really angry and I heard him ranting over the intercom, and then he came along the platform yelling, "Yes - you, sticking your head out of the door".
Then, at the next stop was what really made me mad; someone behind me was trying to get off, but of course most people between me and the door decided they couldn't be bothered to make way, even though I kept shouting "Excuse me!", and I finally got off. Then, so many people got back on that there was no space for me, so I had to wait for the next train. I wasn't happy when I finally got to work; my journey had taken me half an hour longer than usual.
