Desperate Housewives Series Finale

It was really satisfying; Mrs. McClusky’s death was sad, though I was expecting it - the whole sequence with the birth/death was enjoyable to watch, though it was impossible not to think of the Peacock Brothers from The X-Files driving around in their convertible. She was amazing this season, particularly when she took the blame for Carlos’ murdering Ramone Sanchez/Ajexandro - and to think that she seemed like a bogeywoman at the start of Season 1.

It was actually good to see Katherine Mayfair again, even though I don’t remember her officially leaving in Season 6 - just that she turned into a bunny boiler (sort of), went crazy, became a lesbian and suddenly wasn’t in the last six or so episodes of the season. I actually did want Lynette to take the job, and for Tom to go to New York with her because it would be good for them.

The ending was good, and the flash-forwards of what happened to Lynette, Gaby and Bree was a bit like Six Feet Under, but without the deaths - it was epic, though Lynette always had her back to the camera which made me wonder if maybe Felicity Huffman hadn’t been around for that sequence and they’d had to use someone else.

We didn’t get to see Susan’s future, but the last scene with her driving off was really nice, with all the ghosts from Wisteria Lane - half of the time, I was thinking: “Who’s that?”, though. I recognised Mary Alice, Mike, Martha Huber, Mrs. McClusky and Felicia’s daughter - I’m presuming I Bree’s first husband and her pharmacist boyfriend were somewhere there. It was a shame there was no sign of Edie, but I did read there was some legal reason for this.
