My holiday - last few days.

I've managed to fit a lot into three days and I had a very enjoyable day on Wednesday looking around various stately homes and castles and listening to guided tours including one where we were told about the lives of scullery maids and their chores, then we went to spun for dinner only find that we had to wait a full hour to actually order our food because they did not serve until 7pm.

Yesterday started okay when we visited Llandridodd Wells in Wales but we ended up driving from town to town to find a decent cafe but just found lots of places that were closed and almost dead town centres; it was quite depressing but we cheered ourselves up with a swim when we got back.

This morning we has another walk but almost got into trouble when we found a huge hay lorry coming the other way down a narrow country lane and we had to stand to one side and there was barely any room. The lad driving it asked us "which way are you going?" and then told us to squeeze past the side of his truck, which we only just managed. A few minutes later, a dog ran out of a farmhouse and started baring it's feet at us, growling and barking a lot and certain members of the party would not pass so we had to go back.

We spent the afternoon visiting "The Judge's House which was surprisingly fascinating even with dated cassette recorders to use for the audio tour and we had an Indian meal this evening.

Overall I have had a great time this week and will be sorry to be leaving.
