The Perils of Livestreaming (Plus Scarecrow Hunt #3)

Oct 27, 2020 19:38

I was hosting a zoom room for a church guest event today; it's hard work, especially when livestreaming the talk too; I'll suddenly look up and realise someone else is waiting to be admitted.

The thing about livestreaming a zoom talk is that you have to try and make others switch off their cameras, so there aren't random people just watching appearing, and most of the video ended up with this woman just there, who hadn't seen my message about switching cameras off, so it probably looks a bit weird.

Towards the end, two men showed up also with their cameras on, so I put another reminder, and they all got the message.

It was a good talk though; I'll have to watch again sometime - fingers crossed the church don't delete it because of people randomly appearing on the sidelines!

I had time for another scarecrow hunt, but only got round to checking one out - there is one not far from me that is of Room on the Broom; I remember they did that on TV a few years ago, with Gillian Anderson as the witch.

Meanwhile, I've been getting hot under the collar about recycling issues where I live. I've been charged with creating a poster to put through peoples' doors, which makes me wish I'd shut up on the WhatsApp about it, but it gets to me so much when bottles get put in the paper bin, I have to complain.
