Attention Grammar Nazis:
I can't figure out how to google the question I have, so I need to ask for your input. We have a new manager and a new doctor at work. When the new doctor took over at our store, I changed the name board displaying her name to read: Christie Russell, O.D. Our new manager insisted on adding "Dr" in front of her name. So it now reads "Dr Christie Russell, O.D." Is that incorrect? I was always taught that you either use the title or the trailers (I can not remember what the letters listed after the name are called!!) but not both. The only possible exception being a person with multiple higher degrees: Dr. John Doe, Ed.D., MSW.
I just feel that Dr. blah blah, O.D. should be handled by the Department of Redundancy Department.
And asking my co-workers is pointless. I'd give examples of why asking is pointless, but it just makes me too angry realizing that people with such a poor grasp on spelling and grammar can graduate with a high school diploma in America.
And, yes, I know I've got several glaring errors in my own grammar here. But I'm not putting this up to advertise a business!
