Don't ask me how we managed this. I don't know, but I am not complaining: both girls slept until 10 this morning. Ahh. And, both girls are napping at the moment. More AHHHHhhh. I actually was able to eat lunch. Granted it was only Pizza Rolls, but they were MINE. No having to share with a two-year-old. And I got to eat them in front of the computer. Simple things, I tell ya!
In happy news, I almost feel like I need to shout this: according to our scale (which admittedly isn't all that accurate since Nissa likes to jump on it) for the past 3 or 4 days it's been telling me my weight is 210! YAY! So I've dropped another 5 pounds overall. That makes it 75 pounds I've lost since our wedding less than 3 years ago. My mom was down last weekend and we went to town together to do some shopping and have lunch. As I was walking back to our table from the bathroom, she said, "There's nothing left of you." Which is a really nice comment to hear. But I'm still frustrated that I can't see it myself. Probably mostly because we don't have a full length mirror. But, whatever. Plus, moms are supposed to say that kind of stuff!
I'm so glad today is Chris's "Friday." I know he only works 4 days a week, but this week has been a nightmare.
We're looking in to doing a
short sale on the house to get rid of it. We're struggling as it is to stay anywhere near current on our bills, and the ARM on the mortgage will go up in May. So we're looking in to options other than foreclosure. We really want to get out of the house anyhow. The commute (48 miles one way) is really dragging on Chris. So we're looking in to townhouse/apartment rentals. I think we're going to go tour different places either tomorrow or Saturday. Rent is more than our house payment, but since we'll be MUCH closer to work for Chris, the money we save on gas for his car will clear the difference between mortgage and rent. Not looking forward to actually moving all of our stuff. But the thoughts of living somewhere more populous are very, very happy! We'll actually live somewhere that's within a pizza delivery area! I'm not even picky what brand of pizza, just bring it to me! Plus, getting in to the metro area means higher wages! And I know a lot of you are thinking "And higher cost of living," but I've done some comparisons and the difference in grocery pricing is laughable. In fact, a lot of the items were cheaper at Cub than they are CashWise which is where we do the majority of our grocery shopping. (I know, I work at Wal-Mart, but the discount doesn't apply to groceries so I shop for food elsewhere.)
Ugh. I go back to work this coming Tuesday. Granted I'm only allowed 4 hours a day, 3 days a week for the month of April, but I still have to go back. It's going to be weird. Especially because we have a new full-timer now who has started while I've been out. I've never even met her, so I won't know what all she needs help with and what she's okay with on her own. I guess I'll find out, huh? So not looking forward to going back, though. While it will be nice to have some "adult" time, I've become quite accustomed to not really being on a schedule. I'm going to hate the alarm clock, that's for sure!
Both my girls like *NSYNC music. =D YAY! We danced along to the self-titled American release yesterday. Abbey even bounced along in her exersaucer. But, of course, the minute I pulled out the video camera she stopped! And then I ran out of tape. Hmph. Typical. But Nissa was so excited that I was dancing, too. We just moved the stereo in to the living room over the weekend, so now she's always telling me, "booshik ahn." Which I finally deduced is Nissa-ese for "I want you to turn the music on."
I finally figuring out what Nissa is saying reminds me of the day that Chris went to buy his new cellphone. We were doing some other errands, too, so we had the girls with and everything. We pull up out front of the Verizon store and park. Nissa starts saying something that neither Chris nor I could understand - something like "harry shawn yi yes." We asked her to repeat it a few times, and still couldn't figure it out. Finally she rolled her eyes and said, "PHONE!" Oh Lord. Our little shit recognized the logo on the building and was saying, in Nissa-ese, "Verizon Wireless." We even tested our theory later in the day by showing her the logo off Chris's bag. And, yup, "harry shawn yi yes" is Verizon Wireless. She's too damn smart sometimes, I tell ya what.
Anyway, I think I'm going to take advantage of both girls napping simultaneously to get in a little shuteye myself. Have a happy!
