Sometimes I hate technology

Oh, the wonders of TiVo (DVR, whatever the hell you wanna call it).  With just a few button presses, you can bring up the specific episode of Enterprise you want (oh, that clone of Trip was AWESOME), Christmas special for the kids (we're a couple of misfits, what's the matter with misfits, that's where we fit in), an old interview with George Harrison's widow (oh, to be married to that man), and last of all......the best episodes of Atlantis until I can buy season 5 on DVD.

Until the hard drive dies a hideous death.

Imagine the horror and oh-the-humanity when you discover that 53 of your recordings have gone to hard drive hell.  Imagine the suffering when you discover you can't record the shows that come on too damn late to watch and still be functional the next day..........gasp, choke, wheeze........

So Dish Network is sending another DVR.  This happens about every 2 years, but I have to give a eulogy to the lost souls of my favorite recordings.  And I can't record Atlantis tonight, or Sanctuary.......

Well, if I really want the ep, iTunes here I come.  And thank God for "episodes on demand" on scifi.com and cbs.com.  Otherwise, this post would not be in jest.  I really would be freaking the F out.

Sigh.  My fave Atlantis ep "The Shrine".......we hardly knew ye.

tivo, dvr
