Only 40-something days left.............
Until Dragoncon! I've said it before and I'll say it again. How can I have grown up near Atlanta my entire life and only discovered this convention LAST YEAR???!!! Well, I'm making my second trip in a little over 40 days, and more exciting stuff is cropping up by the day, especially these pre-sale photo ops.
Let me just say that last year my best friend and I made a "Wish List" on whom we would just die a million deaths to see. Ten months ago I said, "Leonard Nimoy, but I'm not sure how many cons he attends anymore. Number 2: Joe Flanigan. Yeah, like I'd be THAT lucky to meet Joe. Three: Connor Trinneer. Four: Paul McGillion--and I know he's a wrap cuz he comes to Dragoncon every other year. And Five: Any other Trek or Next Gen actor." My best friend named the entire cast of Battlestar Galactica, with heavy emphasis on Jaime Bamber. =)
What did I get for this year's con? Leonard Nimoy, Joe Flanigan, Paul McGillion, and Patrick Stewart!
I actually cringe when I check the guest list now because there's only so much time in a weekend and if they add anyone else, I'm gonna implode. I already have to squeeze in Kate Mulgrew and Dwight Schultz in there somewhere Labor Day Weekend. Don't even get me started on some of the smaller celebs too.............
Last year I got lots of autographs, but this year I'm trying something new--Froggy Photos. Pay bucks (and don't ask how much I paid for Patrick Stewart because you'll barf) and get a pic with your celeb! I'm signed up for Nimoy, Stewart, Joe, and Joe with Paul. Maybe this will cut down on the amount of time I spend in an autograph line, especially in Nimoy and Stewart's cuz OMG, their lines will be INSANE. (I hope Joe doesn't think I'm a stalker by getting a couple of photos and then an auto later in the weekend. "Damn, why does this woman keep popping up everywhere????")
Anyway, I know my LJ isn't read by a ton o' folks, but I'm getting so wiggly about this con, I just couldn't resist babbling............. =)!
And if I can get my pics and the cut to act correctly, I'll post a con report of Dragon Juice and all the goings on.
