[The video quality is a little worse than usual, but the sights and sounds of the lake are probably discernible through the static. There are brown, calloused hands covering a portion of the video, their owner curiously unaware that he's blocking the view ( Read more... )

[Hong Kong was looking for a quiet spot on deck to watch the water and avoid his sister. Maybe this sleeping (?) pirate won't mind if he hangs out his little section of the deck...]

[Zoro may be snoring but when he's on watch, he's on watch. Your presence wouldn't normally bother him enough to justify a full stretch-and-wake routine, but you're new, unfamiliar, and one of the few people they'd let on board. So.

Zoro cracks open an eye and stares at you curiously. Nothing menacing, yet; just a slightly sleepy inspection by your resident Straw Hat bouncer swordsman.]

[Hong Kong nods politely at Zoro as a greeting.] Neihou. Sorry if I woke you.

[Zoro opens the other eye and nods back, just as polite.] 'sfine. [...] You looking for something?

Just some quiet. Do you mind if I sit with you? [Already finding a nice clear spot on the deck to sit on.]

[Right. You were the one with that bouncy, noisy girl. Can't say Zoro blames you for wanting some peace and quiet right now.] Go ahead.

[And because he's built that way, Zoro shuts his eyes again, peaceful amid the sounds of surrounding ocean. He doesn't go back to snoring though, keeping himself open for conversation. Or he might just be making sure you're not going to try attacking him in his sleep, because there's always that.]

M'goi. [Hong Kong looks very threatening, it's true. Or not. For now he's just sitting quietly, watching the sky and listening to the ocean. He missed this.]

[He's not much of a conversationalist, unfortunately.]

[Neither is Zoro, but that's alright. Real men don't always need words to communicate.

Satisfied that Hong Kong's not planning bloody mutiny, Zoro twitches his swords closer, folds his arms behind his head, and resumes missing the weights he'd left back on the Thousand Sunny. He silently tracks the progress of the ship, feeling the waves rise and fall, hit and splash. A slightly larger wave crashes against the side of the ship and he ignores the spray of sea water on his face with practiced ease.]

[D-did you just imply that Hong Kong is a real man? No one's ever done that before, if he could read brackets he would be so touched.

Hong Kong wrinkles his nose as he gets splashed, but he doesn't really mind. He came out here for a taste of the sea, after all. But sitting in silence gets boring for a while, so he'll try to start a conversation:] Are you part of the crew?

Mmm... [Zoro doesn't open his eyes to answer; he shifts to a slightly more comfortable position instead.] Yeah. Been sailing with Luffy for a while now, though there're usually more of us.

[But, well. He's pretty sure you know why that isn't the case here.]

You been sailing before?
