the big thing that irritates me and precludes me from going to hardcore shows and around that "scene" is the fact that it's a pageant; fucking music isn't about being seen or wearing a certain type of clothes---it's about fucking music. and the hardcore music scene, while an artistic outlet, isn't the right way about working outside the system; if people are so fucking angry, they need to write a book, build a bomb, etc. or shut the fuck up. it just confuses me how people can be so dedicated to something so well-meaning but, on the whole, completely ineffective towards the aims it aspires to achieve.
